Entalpic and Centrale Lille’s REALCAT Platform partner to accelerate catalyst discovery with AI

Paris & Lille, 24 September 2025

Entalpic, an AI-first chemistry and materials R&D startup, and REALCAT, a leading higher education and research institution, announce a strategic partnership to accelerate the discovery of new catalysts through artificial intelligence.

The collaboration, named REALTAPIC, combines Entalpic’s generative AI platform with REALCAT’s cutting-edge high-throughput experimentation (HTE) platform, uniquely integrating biocatalysis, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, and materials science under one roof.

Over the next 18 months, the two partners will develop AI-augmented workflows for catalyst screening, designed for industrial chemical applications. The goal: to rapidly identify and optimize catalysts for critical reactions that support the decarbonization of industry.

A New Paradigm for Catalyst Discovery

Traditional catalyst research relies on slow, trial-and-error experimentation. By integrating Entalpic’s AI, including graph neural networks, GFlowNets, large language models, and active learning, with REALCAT’s HTE capabilities, the partnership will:

  • Accelerate screening of catalytic candidates, reducing discovery cycles from years to weeks.
  • Leverage AI-driven insights from simulations and literature mining to prioritize the most promising directions.
  • Automate testing and data analysis, scaling up experiments with unprecedented speed and reproducibility.

“Atomic-scale modeling powered by AI can bring a step change in catalysis, revealing new trends and improving our understanding of chemical reactions. By integrating with REALCAT’s unique expertise in high-throughput experimentation, we aim to invent the catalysts of tomorrow — where innovation is most urgently needed for industrial decarbonization,” said Alexandre Duval, CSO and co-founder of Entalpic.

Professor Sébastien Paul, coordinator of REALCAT at Centrale Lille, added: “This collaboration opens new perspectives: by combining expertise in chemistry, catalysis, and data science, we can move toward autonomous robots programming experiments, and automate the treatment of the very large volumes of data our platform generates.”
