Entalpic, IFPEN and CentraleSupélec hightlight CIFRE partnerships in AI-Driven materials research
Paris, 29th of April 2026
Entalpic is pleased to share a new video featuring the researchers behind two of our academic partnerships, with IFPEN (Institut Français du Pétrole Énergies Nouvelles) and CentraleSupélec (Université Paris-Saclay).
Both collaborations run under the CIFRE framework, embedding PhD students at the intersection of Entalpic’s AI platform and leading academic and industrial expertise. Amandine Rossello works with IFPEN on heterogeneous catalysis, where the choice of material surface can determine whether a reaction is viable at industrial scale. Ali Ramlaoui works with CentraleSupélec on Graph Neural Network models designed to move beyond academic benchmarks and into real materials workflows.
In this partnership, Entalpic and its industrial partners benefit from complementary expertise, and from each other’s pace.
“On the one hand, Entalpic brings its expertise in generative artificial intelligence and in our case, at IFPEN, we are providing recognized skills in the field of heterogeneous catalysis ” said Pascal Raybaud, Researcher in Computational Catalysis at IFPEN and PhD advisor.
Fragkiskos Malliaros, Professor at CentraleSupélec and PhD Advisor, added “This collaboration between CentraleSupélec and Entalpic on our side is a unique opportunity where we see how our machine learning models such as graph neural networks can be applied in real pipelines”.
In this video, Amandine and Ali also share their personal experience as CIFRE PhDs at Entalpic, providing some insight for researchers considering a similar path.
As told by Ali Ramlaoui, ML PhD Student at CentraleSupélec, “You have this long-term research project, but you have to put it in the perspective of a short-term, fast-moving industry, and figuring out that compromise is something you learn to do”.
